Nosy Crow Publishing House

Branding & Identity

About The Design

Nosy Crow Publishing is a fictional independent publishing house established by Ruth Thornton in 2015 targeted towards children and young adults. She grew up with her parents living paycheck to paycheck, in Buffalo, New York, a city infamous for their high illiteracy rates. From a young age, though, she recognized the importance of education and used reading as a form of escapism. Her love for literature helped her in her goal to pursue higher education, where she was able to financially support herself and her family. Her ultimate mission is to battle illiteracy rates in impoverished communities by encouraging children to engage with reading from a young age. The branding is meant to be playful and light-hearted, catching the attention of young children and instilling their parents with a sense of trust.

The mission of the Nosy Crow Publishing House is to encourage children to read more, and what better way to do that than by bringing the books to them?

The Nosy Crow Mobile Bookshop is a unique concept that brings a new literary experience on wheels. Previously a renovated food cart, this mobile bookstore roams the state of New York, making literature accessible to all. Offering a curated selection of Nosy Crow books at discounted prices, it brings the joy of reading to communities far and wide.
